Every year in January, a new group of material will have their copyrights expire and become part of the public domain, where creative work is free to use by anyone for any purpose. You can find more information about the public domain on the Libraries’ Copyright guide.

Book Cover
Digitized in 2022: Barnum, Phineas Taylor and Taylor, Florence White, “Animal stories by P.T. Barnum: an account of the author’s famous expedition in search of wild animals for the circus, presenting natural history from a new standpoint” (1926).

As part of the public domain, these items can be made available online through library digitization. To celebrate this, the USF Libraries have been selecting titles from our physical collections to digitize each year:

We have poured over the list of items in our collection that will have their copyright expire in 2023, finding the rarest titles we have that fit into our Digital Collections.  We need your help to decide which 23 items we should digitize.
