Getting to Know St. Pete’s Education Librarian

Shawna Durtschi sittingShawna Durtschi (sadurtschi@usf.edu) is the Digital Scholarship Librarian and Education liaison on the USF St. Petersburg campus. In addition to her liaison role, her work includes advancing open access understanding, supporting intellectual freedom and culturally relevant pedagogy, data literacy and democratization, and creating community-academic partnerships that promote equitable access to learning for marginalized students and the broader community.

ShePhoto of Recreational Juvenile Section at NPML has also collaborated with colleagues at the Nelson Poynter Memorial Library to create a warm and inviting space to support education students as they locate and review diverse juvenile and young adult books. When she isn’t looking for dolphins from her office window, she enjoys discovering quiet corners and hidden gems in St. Pete.
