The USF St. Pete library has gone a little mad here. We have collaborated with the USF Tampa Library Special Collections and the Dali Museum to create an Alice in Wonderland Exhibition Extravaganza. In the gallery we have Dali’s Alice Suite, where his enchanting portrayals of characters like the White Rabbit, Mad Hatter, and the Queen of Hearts have made this one of his most popular and well-known book illustrations.
Throughout the first floor of the library, we have a number of display cases with historic and modern editions of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, along with ephemera dating from the original publication, including a letter from Charles Dodgson, or more famously known by his pen name, Lewis Carroll.
In collaboration with the exhibition, USF faculty member, Lindsay Persohn willbe giving a talk Wednesday, September 13 at 6:00pm entitled Alice in Retrospect, How Stories Shape our Lives, on the way this classic has become an integral part of the cultural lexicon. Stop by our library to check everything out before the exhibition closes on October 6.
Don’t be late!
