Many faculty know about USF Libraries’ Subject and Course Guides, but did you know you can play an active role in helping our liaison librarians develop new guides or enhance existing ones? Perhaps you are teaching a special topic where you feel many students may need a bit of extra support finding well-aligned resources, or you have ideas on a resource that would be excellent on an already-existing guide. USF Libraries’ liaison librarians welcome subject faculty collaboration on creating new or enhancing existing Subject and Course Guides.

As an example, in Summer 2022 librarian Jessica Szempruch collaborated with Dr. Jay Michaels (Psychology, Sarasota-Manatee campus) to enhance our USF Libraries’ Psychology Resource Guide to include a section on Psychology of Religion. Dr. Michaels and Jessica worked together via email to share ideas, a process both found fun and rewarding. The result is a curated offering of intentionally selected resources available at no cost to students via USF Libraries. Dr. Michaels was able to begin sharing this guide with his students immediately.
