Shawna Durtschi (sadurtschi@usf.edu) joined USF St. Petersburg’s Nelson Poynter Memorial Library in July as the Digital Scholarship Librarian. She has experience in both public and academic libraries, where her work focused on promoting equitable access and opportunities for literacy and information-seeking. Alongside her library work, as an educational researcher at Florida State University, she collaborated on a number of projects ranging from language and literacy development, to partnering with local school districts to support culturally relevant and evidence-based instruction. When she is not working, she can be found curled up with a cup of tea reading and crafting, but if you can’t find her in a comfy chair, she is probably traveling to near and distant lands to meet new people, hear their stories, and admire nature’s fabulous creations.
