USF Library Faculty and Staff have teamed up with Education Faculty to create a Faculty Learning Community interested in Florida environmental issues related to water and environmental justice. The group, led by Alexandra Panos, Assistant Professor in Literacy Studies, hopes focus on developing teaching and public-facing resources in the form of traditional and digital texts such as children’s and young adult literature, media, art, and open access data that can be useful to the K-12 community of educators. Curation of teaching materials and their use in higher education and K-12 settings will be one of the priorities of the group. The group hopes to create a LibGuide on curated resources, enhance the USF Libraries Florida Environmental and Natural History Portal, and plan for collaborations with other campus and community groups on the project.  Library participants include Susan Ariew, Amanda Boczar, Meghan Cook.  Education faculty include Jenifer Jasinski Schneider, Lindsay Persohn, and Michael Sherry. David Rosengrant and Kaya van Beynen are serving as advisors to the group.
