The USF Libraries began the
Revisioning Collection Management process in October 2020 as a response to the 2020–2022 strategic budget realignment process and a decade-long pattern of unsustainable annual cost increases. Due to time constraints, we had to make decisions based a variety of well-established variables. During the analysis phase we invited – and received – considerable faculty input, but are now entering a formal review/revise phase designed to solicit specific faculty feedback regarding library resources that were not renewed.
Review/Revise Surveys
Faculty are receiving one of three surveys containing titles which have not been renewed. To make the process more manageable, the list of non-renewed titles were divided into three broad categories – Arts & Humanities (A&H), Social Sciences (SS), or Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) – with each department receiving the category list most aligned with their content area.
Reinstated Titles
Based on feedback from faculty members, USF Libraries was able to reinstated certain titles. Reinstated titles are highlighted in the table below. Please note that the reinstatement process is an ongoing one.
Supplemental Data
The table below provides supplemental information about non-renewed titles listed in all three of the surveys for faculty who are interested in seeing additional data. The table can be searched or sorted by column heading (see explanations below). List prices are included to reflect costs before license negotiations.
