Thanks to the USF Libraries’ new Tampa Through Time portal, we recently took a little guided historical jaunt around USF’s Greenways and were pleasantly surprised by how much there was to see and learn.
One particularly impressive spot on the USF Greenways tour is the USF Forest Preserve. Many may have heard about it in USF President Law’s recent fall address, in which she pointed out that, while there are plans for redeveloping the former golf course site into a more vibrant community and multi-use destination, there will be no development of the adjacent Forest Preserve land.
So, what makes the USF Forest Preserve so special? Lots! Check out this digital exhibit, curated by our Florida Environment & Natural History Special Collections team, that uses archives to tell the story of this “ecological and anthropologic gem.”
