USF Libraries and The Florida Museum of Photographic Art present The Ybor City Dwelling Album: Photos From the Great Depression, Then and Now

A recently digitized album of photos sheds light on the city’s early Slum Clearance efforts decades before they were known as Urban Renewal.

In the online Ybor City Dwelling Album, USF librarians have curated the photos as part of an interactive map. There, viewers can explore the images and other digitized archival documents for further research. Photographer Chip Weiner generously provided contemporary images of the sites, allowing viewers to see Ybor City “then and now” as never before.

Join the project team as we unveil the album and share plans for a broader digital history project called the Tampa Through Time Portal. Tuesday, October 22 @ 5:30pm The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, 1630 E. 7th Avenue, Ybor City!
