Launch complexes at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station weren’t built for permanency, but to support missions that took us to the moon and beyond. As they are left behind, abandoned and eroded, the USF Libraries Digital Heritage and Humanities Collections (DHHC) team and the 45th Space Wing are partnering to capture these historic and imperiled space structures to provide a record of what once was.

Using the latest in 3D laser scanning and imaging, they are preserving our nation’s early space history so we have a way to look back — to learn what we did and where we went — to inform our future.
