“Creating a memorable experience is an inevitable way to learn, so why not help everyone that comes your way? I definitely learned that from working at the Library.” – Emily Minoui
How has the Library aided in your academic goals?

I believe that the databases that the Library provides have really guided me throughout my academic career. I probably ended up using them for almost every project I had, so I am super thankful that we have that and also the Library Research Assistants for extended assistance.

How has working at the Library aided in your career goals?

One of the main lessons I’ve learned after working at the Tampa Library for 2 1/2 years is to always expect the unexpected! Every time you work with a patron their situation is going to be different from the last. I think a large part of building connections with people is making sure that you help to solve their problem in any way you can. Patrons are always so thankful that you gave them your undivided attention. Creating a memorable experience is an inevitable way to learn, so why not help everyone that comes your way? I definitely learned that from working at the library.

What are the next steps in your career?

I just got admitted into the Master’s program for Marketing in the Muma College of Business, so I am thrilled to continue my career goals and become a successful woman in advertising.

How do you feel about the changes in Commencement?

I’m the kind of person that doesn’t dwell on the past and how things could have been different or changed, I just take things as they come to me. I am not too bothered that I am not able to walk, especially since USF decided to include Spring graduates with Summer graduates. Solutions like this always come! Also, this gives me more time to take grad photos, ha ha.

What are your self-isolation tips for those stuck at home?

As tempting as it is, try not to sleep in. I still wake up at 8:30 every day just to maintain a slight routine of a “day.” This is the time to be trying things you have always wondered how to do or make, so make this time a time for learning as much as you can!

If you weren’t social-distancing right now, what would you be doing?

This weekend, one of my favorite bands, HUNNY, would have been touring Florida. I would have been driving around the state and following them and supporting their music and having a fantastic time. I am very sad that we can’t do this, but it is what it is. They will come back in August. 🙂

Thank you, Emily! And congratulations on graduating! We wish you much success in your future accomplishments. GO BULLS! 🤘
