Computer Use

It is the policy of the USF Tampa Library to provide computers especially designated for the use of patrons not affiliated with USF. These computers provide access to the Internet, the library’s catalog and online resources. The public use computers are located just inside the Learning Commons entrance from the library lobby. You may obtain a login/password from the Library Services Desk. The login/password is active for 90 days, 3 hours/day. Computer access is granted by agreeing to follow the library guidelines for acceptable computer use.

Guidelines for Acceptable Computer Use:

  • Finding & retrieving information
  • Study or test taking
  • Using e-government services
  • Checking email or social networking sites
  • Creating documents
  • Using online library resources

Unacceptable Computer Use:

  • Viewing or downloading sexually explicit material
  • Using online games or videos, gambling websites
  • Delivering personal business services
  • Using the computer for entertainment
  • Using the computer for any illegal activity
