A New Direction in Research Support
The USF Libraries’ RPTs (Research Platform Teams) partner with disciplinary clusters to promote innovative collaborative services and research discovery. These new partnerships provide additional research benefits to the clusters, Libraries, and the University as a whole, as well as building informed and refined collections.
Our RPTs provide targeted, focused, and collaborative participation in specific departments and across disciplinary clusters. We establish deep relationships with faculty and graduate students in Geosciences, History, Digital Humanities, and Business. As we expand the program, more disciplines will come on board.
Focus on Faculty & Graduate Students
RPTs are librarian-led teams that transform collaboration into partnership. With the primary focus on faculty and graduate students, this team approach integrates expertise in library and information science with deep subject knowledge or functional expertise to build a customized “platform” from which the target audience can advance their research goals. The RPT model transforms most aspects of library operations and complements our current focus on undergraduate student success.
We support faculty and graduate students by combining librarians with subject expertise at or above the Master’s level with professionals possessing functional expertise in areas such as data management, GIS, Statistics, AR/VR, 3D Visualization, publication support, and more.
