What Your Gift Can Do

As we continue to build our collections to support research and instruction, we greatly appreciate all donor contributions that allow us to acquire special items on our wish list. If you are interested in supporting these initiatives, contact Christina Wisz, Associate Director of Development, at cwisz@usf.edu.

Special Collections

We are actively seeking in-kind and cash donations to support our five strategic collection priorities, which include: University Archives, Florida Studies, Florida Environment & Natural History (FLENH), Children’s and Young Adult Literature, and LGBTQ+ and Queer Literature. Read more about our strategic collection areas here.

Oral History Programs: $500 per oral history

We are actively conducting oral histories to add research value to our archival collections. Each oral history is comprised of a roughly one-hour long interview, which is then transcribed and hosted in our Digital Collections.

Collection Endowment: $25,000 minimum named endowment amount

A collection endowment supports circulating and Special Collections acquisitions, preservation, and digitization costs. The flexibility of a collection endowment allows us to identify and purchase collections that will directly benefit the academic and research endeavors of our students and faculty.

Research Endowment: $25,000 minimum named endowment amount

A research endowment supports the ongoing research of USF Libraries faculty. The flexibility of a research endowment provides the much-needed funding for faculty research that advances the mission of the USF Libraries.

4th Floor Renovation: $5,000 to $4.5M for naming opportunities

We are actively fundraising to renovate the 4th floor of the Tampa Library. The renovation will include an updated processing area for Special Collections, exhibition space, a large auditorium for community events, faculty lounge, and quiet study space for students.
