Jailene Munoz served as one of our Circ Desk and Uborrow student assistants, and has searched for and bagged hundreds of books during her time here at the Tampa Library—she is our go-to book detective! Graduating this semester with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology, Jailene’s dependability, resilience, and ability to lead fiercely will suit her well in all her future endeavors.

“The Library was my first job ever, so it gave me confidence talking to people, as well as doing group work. You get to talk to and help people with different majors, which gave me insight on the path that I want to take….” – Jailene Munoz
HOW HAS THE LIBRARY AIDED IN YOUR ACADEMIC GOALS?

The Library’s Course Reserves were a huge part of my academic career. They literally had all of my textbooks which helped me succeed instead of having to worry about the cost of textbooks.

HOW HAS WORKING AT THE LIBRARY AIDED IN YOUR CAREER GOALS?

The Library was my first job ever, so it gave me confidence when talking to people, as well as doing group work. You get to talk to and help people with different majors, which gave me insight on the path that I want to take which is Law School.

WHAT ARE THE NEXT STEPS IN YOUR CAREER?

I am planning on getting my Master’s at USF and then go to Law School!

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE CHANGES IN COMMENCEMENT?

It did mess up my plans considering that I am a first-gen student and wanted to walk the stage during Mother’s Day weekend; but I will be watching the virtual commencement and I will also be walking in August.

WHAT ARE YOUR SELF-ISOLATION TIPS FOR THOSE STUCK AT HOME?

Don’t eat your quarantine snacks all at once!

IF YOU WEREN’T SOCIAL-DISTANCING RIGHT NOW, WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING?

I would probably be at the gym.

Congratulations on graduating, Jailene; and thank you for all of your contributions to the USF Libraries! We wish you much success in your future accomplishments. GO BULLS! 🤘
