The USF in Lakeland Library and Student Government invite you to celebrate YOUR freedom to read by participating in various events during Banned Books Week.

Read-Out!

Tuesday, October 2
on the LTB terrace, outside the USF in Lakeland Library/Open Use Lab
from 11:30 AM to 1 PM
and
from 4:30 PM to 6 PM
Come and listen to excerpts from a challenged or banned book. Anyone can be reading: students, staff or faculty members.

First Amendment Film Festival

Wednesday, October 3
LTB 1105
10:30 am – 1:00 pm
“Inherit the Wind”
Followed by a group discussion led by Dr. Ralph Fehr

3:30 pm – 6:00 pm
“A Clockwork Orange”
Followed by a group discussion led by Dr. Cecil Greek

Book Discussion

Thursday, October 4

12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
“To Kill a Mockingbird”
Group discussion led by Diane Fulkerson

Display

Monday, October 1 – Saturday, October 6

The Library will have a display of banned and challenged books.
