Serena Yeager attended a Getting Started workshop at the beginning of the Spring 2012 semester, and recently completed a Curation research project with Librarian Melanie Griffin.

Undergraduate Research and Arts Colloquium participants Receive Top Honors

Ms. Elise Fisher, who presented a poster at the Colloquium, won the top honor for the best undergraduate research paper on advertising and society from the Advertising Education Foundation. Ms. Fisher also won $1,000 and is in consideration for publication in the AEF’s Journal Advertising & Society Review. Her paper is titled, “Levels of Female Sexuality in Athletic-related Advertising.”

Mr. Joseph Mack, who had an oral presentation in the Colloquium, won an honorable mention distinction as a finalist for his paper titled, “Are SuperPACs Actually Good For Democracy? Corporations, Advertising, and the American Millennial Voter.”

“I am so very proud of them, and thankful that the OUR’s Undergraduate Research Colloquium offered them a forum to present their hard work. During this event students, faculty and staff will have an opportunity to present their research to the University community. Abstract submission deadline is Thursday, May 17, 2012 by 5 pm.
FYI: Registration for the event is free and submission of abstract is not mandatory for attendance. The event is open to all students and faculty. RSVP is encouraged.

Access to the OUR During Construction this Summer

This summer, the second floor of the USF Tampa Library will be transformed! A complete renovation of the southern half of the floor will add a modern open-seating study lounge to the existing Learning Commons and a 300+ seat STEM computer lab (science, technology, engineering, math) to serve USF students in their quest for academic success.

The OUR will be open during construction.

Visitors may access the OUR through LIB 209 (next to Tutoring and Learning Services).
