After the attending the Getting Started in Undergraduate Research Workshop this past May, I felt encouraged enough to apply for volunteer positions. Knowing that the OUR would be available to help me with finding research gave me the confidence I needed to begin fruitful networking. I began volunteering in a lab about a month ago and could not be more pleased with this experience. Dr. Pollenz is completely devoted to the OUR. His enthusiasm and willingness to interact directly with students was essential to developing a research experience that counts toward my major requirements. I strongly recommend any undergraduate student interested in research to visit the OUR and attend the Getting Started in Undergraduate Research Workshop!

Helpful and Motivating Workshop
Dear Dr. Pollenz,
I recently attended one of your seminars regarding undergraduate research, and I have to say I found it very helpful and motivating to get involved in research at USF. Your Getting Started seminar totally changed my outlook and I am actually excited to see what is out there for me. I want to thank you for the presentation and giving me the direction I needed going into next year. Thanks again!

OUR: A Great Gateway to Helping Students
USF’s OUR is a great way for students to learn about how to get started with research and the many research opportunities USF has to offer. I truly believe that OUR was a great gateway to helping students understand what undergraduate research is and the benefits from getting involved in it.
